Description: Scarce Babe Ruth candid photograph c.1915 with related family photograph and scrapbook page. Significant early career image taken of a young Babe Ruth posed in street clothes at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore, MD. Ruth is dressed in a suit and seated atop a stone wall. The image measures 3"x5" with some edge chipping, tape repair to tear at lower right, and general handling wear. Back is inscribed and titled in pencil: GD. The lot also includes an early image of Babe Ruth's family including George Herman Ruth Sr. (father), Catharine Ruth (mother), and Anne Ruth Brundridge (aunt). Sepia tone image appears to date to the late 19th or early 20th century and measures 3"x5 3/4" mounted on acid free board. The photo had a repair to lower right corner loss along with some lamination of some type which may be reversible if so desired: GD-VG. The lot includes the original Ruth family scrapbook page which once displayed both images and has period titling in white ink written on the front. Very uncommon pair of early images chronicling the inception of Ruth's historic baseball career and his family being offered and displayed to the public for the first time. Babe Ruth photo is encapsulated by PSA/DNA (Type I) and includes two individual letters of provenance from the Ruth family
