Description: Lot of miscellaneous Babe Ruth related pieces from the Ruth Family Collection. Includes items/pages removed from the Ruth family scrapbook to include: 1944 dated letter to Ruth on "War Department" stationery which is signed by then Surgeon General Norman Kirk; framed (17"x21") printed titled "The Mistletoe" which is based on an original work by Howard Christy and shows Claire Ruth who was an early model for the noted illustrator; black and white photo of Ruth and an acquaintance with golf clubs in hand housed in period folio which has 1931 dated sentiment to Ruth written on the outside; 8"x10" photo of Ruth and another golfer which is 1940 dated paper caption on the back; pair of scrapbook pages with several images attached one of which is labeled "Babe Ruth's House." Most of the others presumably show Ruth Family members; January 1941 issued of "Friday" magazine with Ruth on the cover (heavy wear); handwritten poem about Ruth written in fountain pen on a slip of paper which has a small image of him attached at top; 1948 postmarked envelope addressed to Ruth; 1948 dated handwritten letter dated shortly after his death from a childhood friend of Ruth to Claire. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout. Includes letter of provenance from the Ruth Family: GD-EX
