Lot Number: 344

Description: Fine Mickey Mantle autographed professional model glove c.1966-68. Rawlings brand left handed baseman's mitt has "Double CA-Thud Pocket" and "DCT" model notations factory stamped inside. "Mick - 7" is written on the outer thumb in vintage slightly faded black marker near a well preserved "Rawlings" label. Strong usage wear is evident throughout and it has been signed "Mickey Mantle NO.7" in marker rating 8 out of 10. Then in the twilight of his storied career, the Yankees shifted Mantle from the outfield to first base at the start of the 1967 season. Mick had led the Yankees through an unprecedented string of (12) American League Championship seasons, including (7) in which they earned World Series titles, and while the team would fail to reach the postseason in either of his last years with them, he performed admirably in the position. The offered glove is one of a select few which remained in the Mantle Family Collection and is one of the finest we have ever offered, from any player, with regard to use and direct first hand provenance. Includes LOA Hunt Auctions, LOA from JSA (autograph) and letter of provenance from the Mantle Family: EX
