Description: Wade Boggs professional model baseball bat and cleats c.1989 displaying exceptional use (Red Sox Clubhouse attendant provenance) (Overall EX) Louisville Slugger C235 model baseball bat with Wade Boggs facsimile signature burned into the barrel end measures 34.25" long and weighs 31.9oz. Exceptional usage wear is evident throughout with a healthy coat of pinetar applied to the handle and mid-barrel,numerous deeply embedded ball and stich marks, ball stamping transfer, and some grain swelling. Jersey number "26" has been written on the knob. Also includes a pair of size 12 Nike cleats with displaying heavy use. The number "26" appears on the tongue of each in Red Sox red/white. Comes with a signed letter from a former Red Sox Clubhouse employee stating the pieces were obtained directly from Boggs in 1989 while he worked with the team. Note that Boggs can be seen in numerous images dated on the Getty website to the 1989 season wearing cleats of an indentical style (image # 115954254).
