NM) Spalding L.MacPhail Official American League baseball has been signed on the side panel, To Craig Best Regards Harmon Killebrew." On the panel below, Killebrew has inscribed the date "9-1-75" and homerun "#571." The ball displays mild consistent soiling with evident useage wear including a heavy scuff indicative of contact. The Royal were in Chicago to play the White Sox in Comiskey Park when Killebrew hit what would be the third to last homerun of his career total (573). I was seated in the left field stands and was lucky enough to catch Harmon Killebrews 571st home run. After the game he signed and inscribed the ball to me." It is signed at the close by the original recipient and lists his address and phone number. Our consignor, a well known advanced Twins collection, has relayed that Killebrew's 572nd and 573rd homerun balls are within an established private collection and the Hall of Fame with neither likely to be offered in the foreseable future. One of the highest number well documented homerun balls to have entered the market. Includes handwritten letter of provenance and a PSA/DNA authentication label is affixed verifying the signature (cert card not included): Ball EX, Sig. NM ($10,000-$15,000)
