Description:1971 Joe Frazier presentational large format award from The City of Philadelphia (EX/MT) Large wooden plaque (18"x24") having affixed metal plate which bears printed on imagery of Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali during their historic bout, the Official seal of Philadelphia, and the famed statue of William Penn. Lettered below, "Joe Frazier, Heavyweight Champion of The World, Whose determination, courage, and skill took him to the pinnacle of success and is a fine example for the youth of America, Presented by The City of Philadelphia April 19, 1971, James H.J. Tate, Mayor." Mounted below is a cast figural representation of the Liberty bell. Light scattered wear to both wooden plaque (which has a small split in the wood toward lower edge) and affixed metal plate. Includes letter of provenance from the Frazier family: EX/MT ($500-$1,000)
