Description: 1968 Joe Frazier "John Wanamaker Athletic Award" trophy (EX) Handled trophy cup adorned with eagle figural sits atop wooden base (4.25"x4.25") standing 13" tall. Metal placard at base front is engraved, "The John Wanamaker Athletic Award Presented to Joe Frazier, The Philadelphia Athlete Who Has Done The Most To Reflect Credit To Philadelphia And To The Team Or Sport In Which He Or She Excels, 1968." A prestigious honor, the Wanamaker Award has been given annually since 1961 with past recipients including Mike Schmidt, Julius Erving, Chuck Bednarik, Bernie Parent, and a host of other notables.
