Description: November 26, 1918 Christy Mathewson American Expeditionary Forces "Advisory Athletic Council" memorandum with (2) related letters. "Memorandum No. 22" dated November 26, 1918 and sent by "Headquarters 28th Division, American Expeditionary Forces" in France. Content relays that "An Advisory Athletic Council" had been established for the purposes of recommending possible athletic activities for members of the division, determining how to pay for needed equipment, and creating a code of conduct for the athletic competition. Council members are named below including "Captain Christopher Mathewson, A.D.G.O." Fold lines and some general wear and the name "Capt. Mathewson" is written across the top in pencil (faint). Accompanied by a pair of typewritten notes, both dated Nov. 27, 1918 which called for a meeting of the council and then postponed said meeting.
