Description: Bill Carrigan handwritten letter with fine content and related telegram c.1910. (2) Page handwritten letter to D.A. Fletcher on “The Majestic” stationery reads in part, “In regard to the uniforms for the All Star series for Speaker + myself…I guess everybody is not pulling for that series to come off. I have talked with a good many of the players on other teams that are not to take part and they want to see it come off just to show the commission up. So we are all with you.” Signed at the close, “William F. Carrigan.” Includes related telegram reading in print “we are ready to fill contract. Tris Speaker and Wm. Carrigan.” Carrigan enjoyed a lengthy career with the Boston Red Sox during which, as player/Manager, he lead the team to a pair of World Series victories in 1915 and 16. He is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame. Light age toning to letter which is slightly more pronounced at edges. Upper edge has pair of small holes through which the pages were once attached to each other. Typical mailing folds. Handwriting/signature rates 8/9 out of 10. Telegram toned/wrinkled with several edge chips. Includes letter of provenance and auction LOA from JSA: Letter EX-EX/MT, Telegram VG-VG/EX
