Description: Unique Mickey Mantle autographed large format poster with numerous 1961 related inscriptions (JSA) Large format 24"x36" poster featuring a large image of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. It has been signed "Mickey Mantle" in blue marker with "Our Best Wishes" inscription. In addition, he has handwritten "54 Home Runs" over his likeness, "61 Home Runs" over Maris, and added "115 Home Runs 1961" which represents the total when combined. Signature and handwriting rate 8 out of 10. Wear is largely confined to the borders with the exception of a small stain along the bottom and the majority could be matted out when framed for display. The piece originated from the personal collection of Marshall Smith who was a dear friend of Mantle’s and credited with teaching Mickey the game of golf. Includes letter of provenance from Smith.
