Description: Rare Mickey Mantle autographed Rookie-era postcard c.1951-52 (PSA/DNA 8 NM-MT). Sepia tone postcard has been signed "To Ray - Best Wishes, Mickey Mantle" with the autograph graded 8 NM-MT by PSA/DNA. Mantle is showing during his 1951 Rookie season (with American League Anniversary patch on his sleeve) and the signature style employed dates to the same time period (definitely 1951 and possibly as late as sometime in 1952). Few examples of this particular postcard (blank back but postcard size/stock) have surfaced and they are believed to have been made for and distributed by Mantle himself and the Mantle Family in response to his popularity upon joining the Yankees. The piece displays at higher level than technical grade would indicate with some mild general wear and the most notable flaw being some unobtrusive tack holes (6 total) in the upper third. A notable rarity dating to Mantle's earliest days with the New York Yankees.
