Description: Harry Kalas jacket worn as he called the 5th and deciding game of the 2008 World Series (direct family provenance) (EX/MT) Be it as a member of the Phillies broadcast team or the inimitable voice behind NFL Films, there are few names in the world of sportscasting that are as revered as that of Harry Kalas. Kalas joined the Philadelphia Phillies organization with the opening of Veterans Stadium in 1971 and remained there through (38) full seasons becomming the voice of the Franchise and a symbol of baseball in the City. The offered jacket is the very one he was wearing while broadcasting from the Vet during Game (5) of the 2008 World Series when he was finally able to announce that the Philadelphia Phillies were World Champions (Broadcast agreements between MLB and the Networks did not allow for him to call the 1980 World Series). Wool jacket is comprised of red body with tan leather sleeves and has "P" stylized team logo on chest and "National League"patch on sleeve. In the collar is a "Majestic" manuf. tag with handwritten "HK" initials. Adjacent is the size "M" flag tag. Interior has wash and style tags. Light evident usage wear throughout. Originates directly from a Kalas family member and will include a letter of provenance. Kalas can be seen wearing the jacket in photographs taken during the 2008 World Series and in video from the Broadcast booth: EX/MT ($2,000-$4,000)
