Description: Ty Cobb et al multi-signed November 5, 1928 Tokyo Baseball Writers Banquet menu (EX-EX/MT). 4"x6" Heavy stock menu card with color embossed American and Japanese flags at top from a banquet thrown in honor of Herbert H Hunter. Hunter had organized several tours of Major League players in the period and listed as Guests of Honor at bottom of the menu are Ty Cobb and noted Umpire Ernest Quigley. Signed on front and back by numerous attendees incl. Cobb, fellow players Bob Shawkey and Fred Hoffmann, Quigley, Hunter, and others. Additional 4"x7" related menu, likely from another event, bears signatures of Quigley (twice), Hoffman, Shawley (on the back in pencil) and others. Ink signatures rate 7 to 9 out of 10 (avg 8/9). Both pieces show age toning and light wear with tape stains in corners. Includes auction LOA from JSA: EX-EX/MT, Sigs. EX/MT-NMFinal Bid: $887.00
