Description: 1933 R338 Goudey Sport Kings uncut sheet of (24)-cards including Ruth, Cobb, Grange, and Thorpe (PR-VG). This is the first time that this particular sheet has been offered at auction. Original card-stock version uncut sheet measuring 11 1/2"x14 1/4". Features a final production printing of the fronts of card #s 1 to 24 of the set (randomly arranged) which include Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Reg Grange, Jim Thorpe, Walter Hagen, Howie Morenzg, Bobby McLean, Gene Sarazen, Nat Holman, William Tilden, Vincent Richards, McNamara, Ed Blood, Eddie Shore, Jack Dempsey, Anton Lekang, Laverne Fator, Johnny Weissmuller, Bobby Walthour Sr., Ed Wachter, Jewtraw, Jim Londros, and Duke Kahanamoku. The back of the sheet is blank. Various degrees of creasing and small areas of paper loss are evident throughout the sheet and effect all cards except Ty Cobb and Ed Blood. Of note, moderate creasing effects the Ruth, Hagen, Morenz, Kahanamoku, Londos, and Wachter cards; and there tearing on the Lekang, Morenz, and Londos cards. The back of the sheet exhibits scattered surface wear and has ink writing at one corner. Three of the edges on the back have clear tape affixed to them, and paper loss is evident at the corners. Overall, the sheet displays very well with vibrant color and clean surfaces. Technically grades PR-VG, but retains better display quality.Final Bid: $4,430.00
