Description: New York Highlanders vs. Boston Americans exceedingly rare early game action photograph c.1906 (Patsy Dougherty at bat), large size glass plate negative (see description) Rare early photograph taken at the Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds as the Americans home team faced the Highlanders. Identified in period handwriting atop those pictured as Dougherty at bat, one year player Charlie Graham catching, and noted umpire Jack Sheridan calling the game. Light toning throughout with loss to edges and small circular imperfection/area of loss near foot of batter. Can still be developed to great effect offering an extremely rare early view of baseball at the Major League level. 5"x7".
