Description: 1993 National Sports Award presented to Ted Williams by President Bill Clinton (NM) Uniquely fashioned award consisting of 3.5"x3.5"x4.25" metal box which has "Ted Williams The National Sports Award June 20, 1993" lettered on side. Lid opens to reveal a "medallion" comprised of red/blue/green circular sections which are connected via (2) points on each allowing for all to rotate. Cloth neck ribbon with clip at bottom to hold medallion is embroidered "Ted Williams" and "National Sports Award." Ribbon is meant to be removed and the medallion can be affixed to box lid for display which measures 7.5" tall overall. Award was presented to Williams at a Ceremony at the White House presided over by the President Bill Clinton. Other honorees in 1993 included Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Muhammad Ali, and Arnold Palmer.
