Description: UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Outstanding c.1976-76 Rocky Bleier autographed and "Game Used" inscribed Pittsburgh Steelers professional model helmet (MeiGray 6 game photo match). Black helmet by Riddell has a "Steelers" logo decal on one side. Suspension style interior (6 point anchored) is stamped with the size (6 7/8) and a period hardened bumper remains in place. A date wheel inside has "75" digits at the center suggesting manufacture in 1975. Player number "20" decals are applied to the both front and back and the Riddell marked chinstrap has faded "20" notation. Strong use is evident throughout with scattered scuffs and scrapes. A few of these appear to run below the team logo suggesting that the helmet was likely reconditioned. It is through some of these point of wear that MeiGray has been able to photo match the helmet to use in (3) games spanning 1976 and 1977: December 5, 1976 at Three Rivers vs. Tampa Bay; December 19, 1976 at Three Rivers vs. Baltimore in the AFC Divisional Round game; and November 13, 1977 at Three Rivers vs. Cleveland. Additional matches were made to November 28, 1976 (vs. Bengals); November 27, 1977 vs. Jets; and December 4, 1977 vs. Seattle (Bleier dressed but did not play in this game).
