Description: Fine Don Drysdale professional model baseball glove c.1966-(NL Championship Season). Spalding "Don Drysdale Personal Model" glove with model number "42-203" stamped inside. Player number "53" is written on the outside in vintage marker and the glove is signed and inscribed just above. The autograph has unfortunately faded from view however the "To Doug" personalization can still be deciphered. Well worn in with outstanding use evident throughout. Vintage Dymo labels are affixed over wrist strap "Spalding" label and read "Don Drysdale L.A. Dodgers 1966." The Dodgers claimed their second consecutive National League title in 1966 (after winning the World Series in 1965) and Drysdale contributed (13) wins to the effort. He and fellow ace Sandy Koufax had anchored the Dodgers pitching staff since their days in Brooklyn and together would lead the Franchise to four Championship titles (1 on the east coast and 3 on the west). Game gloves of this quality and with this direct chain of provenance (having been gifted from one Hall of Famer to another) are seldom offered.
