Description: 1962 San Francisco Giants N.L. Champions 14K gold pendant from the Ed Bailey Collection. Ornate piece has a large circular face with raised "San Francisco Giants" logo, "1962" year, and "National League Champions" titling. The 1962 Giants won (103) games and claimed the National League pennant after a tense (3) game playoff with their cross-bay rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Ed Bailey became instrumental to their success in June when a series of (3) clutch homeruns (spread over 4 games) help the Giants pull into first place, neck and neck with the Dodgers. He would play (6) games in the 1962 World Series and hit a homerun in Game (3). For their efforts that year team members were awarded both a ring and a 14K gold money-clip. The offered example was presented to Bailey who had the flange removed from the back and an eyelet secured in its' place so that it could serve as a pendant. The original "Ed Bailey 6" engraving remains in place on the back and "To B.L.B. From E.B. 13 Years Service" (sic) was added below. The makers' mark and hallmark are typically found on the clip (which is no longer present) but the piece has been reviewed to confirm proper gold content. It weighs (33) grams with some light general wear throughout. Includes letter or provenance from the Bailey Family: EX-EX/MT
