Description: Fine Roberto Clemente autographed professional model baseball bat c.1964 - Batting title winning season (PSA "GU 8.5"). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Clemente facsimile signature in the barrel measures 36” long and weighs 36.3oz. Model number “U1” is factory stamped in the knob. Excellent use can be seen throughout with mild grain swelling to the front and back barrel due to repeated contact. Ball contact and stitch marks appear on all sides. The included documentation from PSA/John Taube notes that “the finish has been removed from the left and back barrel...an inscription has been removed from the left barrel.” Signed “Roberto Clemente” on the upper back handle in marker rating approx. 6-6/7 out of 10, a highly desirable trait which serves to place the bat directly in his hands. Factory records indicate that the bat dates to the 1964 season, a particularly noteworthy year for Clemente who claimed the National League batting title leading the League in hits (211) and average (.339).
