Description: 1952 New York Yankees World Championship presentational silver box. Sterling silver box is one of a limited number produced by the team and presented to a member of the Yankees organization following the 1952 season. A "World Champions Yankees" logo (accented by a trio of red, clear, and blue stones) is affixed to the lid and surrounded by a floral garland. When opened, one can see facsimile signatures of team members engraved including (6) Hall of Famers. The piece is marked "Gorham Sterling" on the underside and measures approx. 10.75"x3.75"x1.75" with a hint of light tarnish and natural handling wear. The Yankees finished the 1952 season (2) games ahead of Cleveland to claim the American League title and would beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in the World Series. It was their 4th consecutive Championship season and they would repeat the feat again in 1953. Their potent lineup, featuring a young Mickey Mantle, was among the best ever fielded. The box originates from the collection of Barry Halper and includes a related auction identification tag: EX-EX/MT
