Description: Ty Cobb signed typed letter with envelope dated 1928 (EX, laminated). Typed on "Tyrus R. Cobb - Augusta, Ga." letterhead measuring 7"x9.5" (part of right and bottom borders of letter have been cut off). The letter is addressed to "Mr. George H. Maines" (who was once the League President of the Michigan-Ontario Baseball League) and is a response to a request for an unnamed company to use Ty Cobb's name on a trophy. Letter reads in part: "I feel very much honored that you should ask me, and will of course, comply with all my heart.". Signed "Ty Cobb" in green ink. Signature rates 8/9 out of 10. Includes original mailing envelope which is postmarked 1928 and has "Tyrus R. Cobb - Augusta, Ga." printed on the flap. Letter is laminated: EXFinal Bid: $758.00
