Description: Notably rare Mickey Mantle signed handwritten letter (EX/MT). Full page handwritten letter thanking the recipient for wishing he and his son well (Billy Mantle had just been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease). Signed at the close "with best wishes, I'm Sincerely thankful, your friend, Mickey Mantle." Despite leading the most public of lives, authentically signed handwritten correspondence from Mantle is of notable rarity. One of only a handful of letters we have encountered and the first we have offered at auction. Includes original mailing envelope postmarked Nov. 2, 1983.
