Description: 1961 Stan Musial St. Louis Cardinals player's contract (EX). Original "Uniform Player's Contract" issued for Stan Musial's 1961 season with the St. Louis Cardinals. Contract states that Musial would receive $60,000 for the season. It also has an addendum pasted on the "Special Covenants" section which states "It is understood and agreed that effective with calendar year following the calendar year in which the Player retires as an active player, the Club agrees to pay the Player $18,000.00 anually for such public appearances as the Club may request the Player agree to perform...". The addendum is initailed by Warren Giles in ink. Contract is dated January 25th, 1961 and signed "Stanley F. Musial" in blue ink. It is also signed by Warren Giles and Vaughan Devine. Signatures rate 10 out of 10. Contract is also stamped "National League Jan 27 1961" on the back. Exhibits minimal wear with light age toning evident where the paste was applied for the addendum: EXFinal Bid: $2,419.00
