Description: 1943 War Bond Game full ticket, Babe Ruth hits home run off Walter Johnson (PSA 4 VG/EX). Outstanding original full ticket from War Bond Old-Timers Game at the Polo Grounds on the Aug. 26, 1943, sponsored by the N.Y. Journal American newspaper. The exhibition game, featuring stars from the New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, and New York Yankees vs. a military service team, raised a reported $800 million in war bond sales and pledges. The highlight came when two all-time greats, Babe Ruth and Walter Johnson, faced off against each other. Ruth, of course, launched a home run into the right field stands.
