Description: Collection of Bill Walton's high school & youth athletics trophies & awards, c.1960-70 (GD-EX/MT). Total of (14) pieces dating predominantly to Walton's tenure at Helix High School during the late 1960s, most of which are related to basketball championships or tournament achievements. Includes 1969 Christmas Tournament championship trophy; 1964 Varsity champ trophy; 1969-70 Helix High School Athlete of the Year award; 1968 Fillmore Basketball Tournament medal (All Tournament); 1968 JV Most Valuable player trophy; 1969 Christmas Tournament Player of the Tournament trophy; and (2) San Diego City Recreation Dept trophies. About one third of the awards specifically have Walton titling rather than generic placards. Various condition grades with a few missing nameplates or small accoutrement pieces. Sizes range from 3" tall to 10" tall. Includes original 10" square image of Walton in game action with Helix High School, and certificate of provenance from Walton Family: Range GD-EX/MT ($750-$1,500)
