Description: Engel Stadium seats - hosted Negro League games and the site where Jackie Mitchell struck out Ruth and Gehrig (EX) Pair of cast iron and wood seats which are free standing and functional on the inluded riser mounts. General wear which is consistent with long term outdoor use as intended throughout. The stadium was home to the Chattanooga lookouts and hosted many Negro League and exhition games. Jackie Mitchell (a 17 year old young woman) struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Satchel Paige is believed to have made his professional debut there in 1926 as did Willie Mays in 1946.
