Description: Kent Tekulve c.1980 Pittsburgh Pirates professional model hat with (26) "Stargell Stars" (EX) Classic pillbox style hat embroidered with "P" team logo at front has a total of "26" sewn on "Stargell Stars" as awarded to Kent Tekulve by Hall of Fame teammate Willie Stargell. Vintage black marker "27" is written under the brim and proper "New Era...Pro Model" tagging can be found on interior band. Size tag has been clipped off and the front of the band is secured to body of hat (above brim) by period tape. Outstanding usage wear evident throughout with sweat staining and a slight surface shean to the area where Teke would adjust the hat during play. It appears that Tekulve is picture in this hat on his 1981 Fleer Star Stickers card. Includes letter of provenance from Kent Tekulve: EX ($750-$1,250)Final Bid: $2,416.00
