Description: Rare baseball figural gas lamp c.1870's. One of only a few known examples this lamp features a full uniformed player in 1860's style garb leaning on bat and holding ball. Retains majority of its' bonze and gold surface wash and its' piping behind player. Stands 12" tall on original black marble base, has a small stress fracture on bat that has been repaired. Very similar to a slightly earlier figural statue that we sold in our February 2001 auction: EX
