Description: Rare February 28, 1895 Charles Comiskey autographed handwritten letter. One page folded (front and interior) handwritten letter was sent by Comiskey to Eddie Boyle with regard to playing for the St. Paul Saints. Pointed content expresses Comiskey's disdain for the negotiations between himself and Eddie Boyle indicating that Boyle was one of only a few unsigned players. Comiskey notes that he would have been glad to pay more had he not had to pay $4,000 for his baseball grounds. Signed on the verso, "Yours Truly Chas. Comiskey". The letter itself has tape repair residue at the fold lines. Letter text and signature remain fairly bold ranging from 8-9 out of 10. Includes its original envelope as hand addressed by Comiskey. Very rare 19th century exemplar of the "Old Roman". Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the Boyle family: Letter: VG, Signature: NM

Estimated Price: ($1,500.00-$2,000.00)
