Description: Toledo Cubs team photograph c.1940s. Rare sepia tone 8"x10" original image of the Toledo team pictured in full uniform posed in a stadium setting. The Toledo Cubs would be one of the original founding teams of the United States League formed by Branch Rickey in 1945 with Turkey Stearnes among its players in that inaugural year. The photo remains very clean with excellent contrast and clarity. Stamped on the reverse by Godbey photography studios. Includes letter of provenance from the Mitchell family: EX-MT
