Description: Rare Hack Wilson auto. personal check. Dated July 5, 1931 and made out to "Chicago Cubs", personal check is signed "L. R. Wilson". All writing is in green fountain pen, rating 9 out of 10. Cancellation holes only touch the "L" in Wilson's signature. Red bank stamp on reverse has bled through to the front slightly but does not significantly detract from the overall display quality of the check. Two vertical fold lines are visible as well. Hack Wilson checks are among the toughest of all early HOF'ers to obtain and are seldom seen in the marketplace. The offered example, being made out the Chicago Cubs in 1931, Wilson's last season with the team, is an ideal example in all respects.
