Description: Larry MacPhail 1941 handwritten letter to Mrs. Van Lingle Mungo. Two-page letter was handwritten on stationary from the Ansley Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. As General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, MacPhail offers support and encouragement to Mrs. Mungo in handling Van's excessive drinking. All writing, including MacPhail's "L.S. MacPhail" signature rate 9 out of 10 with a couple of smudges not affecting the signature. Includes LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the family of V.L. Mungo: EX
