Description: Tony Dorsett signed 1976 Pittsburgh Panthers game model jersey. Blue cotton "tear-away" jersey features number "33" screened on front, back and both sleeves. Last name "Dorsett" is screened on the reverse. Russell Athletic tagging remains on the tail front. Dorsett has signed the back number in light blue Sharpie with his added notation "'76 Heisman". Considered one of the greatest running backs in college football history, Dorsett helped Pitt to a national title in 1976, while picking up the Heisman Trophy and leading the nation in rushing with 1,948 yards. He was a four-time All-American, finishing his college career with 6,082 total rushing yards, an NCAA record at the time. The jersey shows light general wear. Obtained by our consignor directly from a Pitt student equipment manager. A copy of a November 8, 1976 issue of Sports Illustrated is included showing Dorsett on the cover wearing a similar jersey.
