Description: 2001 World Series Game #4 First Pitch baseball from Whitey Ford. Official Selig MLB 2001 World Series baseball with U.S. flag logo 'Ceremonial First Pitch' stampings in honor of the tragic September 11th terrorist attacks. The ball is inscribed on a side panel by Ford, "1st Ball Thrown Out 4th Game of 2001 W.Series" and has been signed across the sweet spot in gold ink, "Whitey Ford HOF74". The 2001 World Series was one of the most dramatic in history with the Arizona Diamondbacks shocking the Yankees with a seven game thrilling victory in the Series. While the on field events were electric, the Series will always be remembered for its moving tributes to the victims of the September 11th attacks. Just one day prior to the dating of the offered baseball, President George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium as a display of unity for all Americans. Both Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto also threw out ceremonial first pitch baseballs with Whitey Ford before Game #4 at Yankee Stadium.
