Description: 1996 John Wetteland New York Yankees World Series home jersey. White pinstriped knit shirt worn by the Yankees star closing pitcher, John Wetteland, in the 1996 World Series. Jersey retains its original "NY" logo on the front with #35 on the reverse. Russell Athletic tagging remains affixed to the tail front along with "Wetteland-96" strip tag and polyester flag tag. 1996 World Series patch is found on the right sleeve with the Mel Allen memorial black armband on the left sleeve. The jersey exhibits evident use/wash wear and has been signed across the front, "John Wetteland WS MVP 96" in black sharpie. John Wetteland simply overpowered the Braves in the 1996 World Series, appearing in five games with four saves, a 2.08 ERA, and capturing the Series MVP award. The offered jersey was acquired directly by the current owner from the Yankees FanFest event and is being sold at public auction for the first time.
