Description: October 1, 1949 Joe DiMaggio Day trophy. Large art nouveau style brass handled trophy stands 30" tall with a large figural baseball batter at the top (bat is loose). Trophy remains mounted on its original white base with affixed brass placard inscribed, "Joe DiMaggio Champion On and Off the Field Oct. 1, 1949". The body of the trophy is inscribed, "College Ave. Fan Club". The offered award was one of many presentational gifts given to DiMaggio during the historic ceremony held at Yankee Stadium (See Lot 31): EX
