Description: Superb Babe Ruth single signed baseball c.1930-40s. Lightly clear coated Yale Sporting Goods "Major League" model ball signed on the sweet spot by Babe Ruth in black fountain pen. Huge Ruth signature measures almost 2 1/2" long and is among the boldest that we have encountered on a baseball. A very minor abrasion on the "R" in Ruth is the only mentionable fault in the signature. The ball itself has some typical light age and handling wear retaining its original stampings. Given the signature size and darkness, this particular exemplar displays equally well from six feet away as it does at close range. Recently discovered in a East Coast estate and includes the original lidded cardboard box which has preserved the ball for over 60 years.
