Description: Rare 1957 Ted Williams auto. window display poster. Huge 40"x60" display poster after the Robert Riger illustration of Williams leaning on a bat. Titled at the right, "The Champions presented by Sports Illustrated Ted Williams". The sign was acquired directly by the consignor from a department store at which Williams was appearing and was then subsequently signed by Williams. Enormous vintage Williams signature is the largest that we have encountered measuring 12" in length. The poster is clean overall with some typical light wear to the edges from suspension including a few creases/small tears. First example of this rare period display piece that we have handled and almost certainly the only signed copy extant. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication: Sign: EX, Signature: NM
