Actual award plaque presented by the New York Mirror newspaper to Mickey Mantle in his second professional season with the Yankees for player of the day honors. Mahogany plaque measures 9"x12" with an inscribed brass placard on front denoting its presentation to Mantle. Plaque remains in original condition with the brass placard having some surface wear incl. scratching. Includes a letter of provenance from the Mantle family: EX
