Description: Al Simmons autographed professional model baseball bat c.1933-34. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 37 1/2" long and weighs 36.5 oz. Bat shows evident usage incl. light pine tar residue, swelling to the barrel from ball impact, area of deadwood on the back of the barrel, and rack marks. Barrel has been autographed by Simmons along with teammates Jimmie Dykes and Mule Haas. End of the barrel has been shortened by approx. 1/2" in the period possibly by Simmons himself and has a tiny hole from the removal of a small metal hook. "Bucketfoot" was one of the finest batsman of his era compiling lifetime totals of 2,927 hits and a .334 batting average over an illustrious 20 year career. The offered bat is the only documented Al Simmons signed game bat. Includes letter of provenance from the Donnelly family, LOA from SCD Authentic D.Bushing-D.Knoll (bat), and LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad (autographs): EX
