Description: Rare Warren Spahn professional model baseball bat c.1951. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 34 ounces having "SPAHN" block letter stamping on barrel and H117 stamped on knob end. Bat exhibits heavy usage wear while retaining a pleasing honey color surface. End of barrel has some dryness. Bat was given directly to a Braves Field vendor in 1951 as he and Spahn had become friendly during the pregame warm ups and batting practice. Spahn's 363 wins are legendary but he also enjoyed hitting collecting (35) home runs in his career. Very rare and desirable HOF'er player model bat matching Spahn's bat orders for years 1950, 1952, and 1953. Includes detailed and notarized letter of provenance from the original recipient along with a newspaper photo of the boy in vendor's outfit.
