Description: 1956 Balt. Colts George Shaw preliminary season game worn jersey. Royal blue Durene style shirt with applied number 14 on front and back. Retains MacGregor and dry cleaning tags on tail (loose), numbers are present and intact but have become separated to varying degrees from the shirt.Sleeves have been shortened and the jersey has some small repaired and unrepaired holes. Shaw was the Balt. Colts starting quarterback who was respected as one of the better players in the league. Shaw got injured after the fourth game in the 1956 season which left the door open for a young player by the name of Johnny Unitas and the rest is history. Very rare and desirable player shirt from a key player on the Colts. Includes letter of provenance from the family and LOA from David Bushing/Dan Knoll: GD-VG
