Description: Julius "Dr. J" Erving autographed Philadelphia 76ers professional model sneakers c.1980s. Custom made white leather high top Converse All-Star model sneakers having "Dr J" titling in blue on side panels. Both shoes retain their original Converse manufacturer's labeling on tongue areas and have been signed by Erving in black sharpie on side panels. Sneakers exhibit evident use throughout with some additional age flaking to the interior red lining and ankle areas. Dr. J. single handedly revolutionized the style of play in the NBA as well as the cultural impact of same. His caliber of play and style off the court paved the way for those who followed with Erving remaining one of the most iconic players in the history of the league. Originally obtained by a collector who received items directly from players and team employees in the period. One of the finer pair of Erving game sneakers we have encountered having primary source provenance.
