Description: 1948-49 Philadelphia Eagles autographed "World Champs" Thorpe Sporting Goods "The Duke" display football. Wilson "The Duke" football with "Thorpe Sporting Goods" logo on the side is among the nicer condition white leather examples we have handled. "Philadelphia Eagles World Champs 1948 1949" is hand painted on a side panel and it appears that it has been signed throughout by team members. The majority of the autographs have largely faded from view however Chuck Bednarik can be made out along with Pete Pihos and a handful of others. Faded signatures aside, the ball offers outstanding display value both as a vintage Eagles piece and as a representation of a rare early white leather night striped football. Hint of light toning throughout and the interior has been stuffed with cotton to maintain shape: EX overall with NM stampingsEstimated Price Range: ($500-$1,000)
