Description: Chicago and Hartford figural baseball lamp bases c.1870-80s. Pair of cast metal lamp bases are each done in the form of a baseball player figure including batsman with "Hartford" lettered on his belt and pitcher with "Chicago." The batter has nice patina with some light surface wear and sits atop portions of a period lamp base (a metal rod has been affixed to the underside to help secure it in place but this could likely be removed). Pitcher was fashioned into an oil lamp (not functional, missing shade) and finished in a gold wash.
