Description: Rare Bill Russell autographed professional model basketball sneakers c.1960s (Style Photo Match). Exceptional pair of original Adidas black suede sneakers as worn by Russell with the Boston Celtics during the 1960s era. The sneakers exhibit very strong evident use to both the body and soles yet retain a fine visual appearance with proper patina. Adidas label remains affixed to interior tongue area of each shoe. There is a bit of relatively minor soiling to a few areas which may be from storage/wear after original use noted for accuracy only. Each shoe is signed by Russell in gold sharpie on their respective side panels. This precise sneaker style is documented as having been used by Russell within numerous period photographs. Very significant pair of original game sneakers with unimprovable primary source provenance ranking among the finest of their type having been offered at public auction.
