Description: 1955 Bill Russell University of San Francisco NCAA Champions trophy (First of two consecutive NCAA Championships). Original figural trophy as presented to Russell in recognition of his first NCAA championship in 1955. White marble base supports a brass columnar body with gilt figural at the top. Center column is inscribed, "N.C.A.A. Champs 1955 Bill Russell Presented by Granat Bros.". Trophy stands 12" tall with some light wear to the base with player figural (original to trophy) having been re-plated. The offered trophy is among the more prominent of the related 1955 championship awards in the Russell collection as presented by prominent San Francisco trophy maker Granat Brothers.
