Description: 1957 Norm Van Brocklin Los Angeles Rams player's contract with related letter from Pete Rozelle. Oversized two page (front and back) original player's contract as issued to Van Brocklin for the 1957 season. Front is signed at the bottom by several team/league officials including Commissioner Bert Bell, Pete Rozelle, and Van Brocklin himself. The reverse of the contract is additionally signed by Rozelle and Van Brocklin. Condition is very fine with original fold lines from mailing and signatures ranging from 8-10 out of 10. This contract relates to Van Brocklin's final year as a player for the Rams as he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles before the start of the 1958 season. The lot also includes a June 3, 1957 typewritten letter as sent from Rams president Pete Rozelle with exceptional content regarding Van Brocklin's play with Rams and also significant thoughts by Rozelle on Van Brocklin's testimony before Congress involving the Player's Association. Signed "Pete" in blue ink at the bottom. Very rare original contract from a legendary Hall of Fame player of the period.
