Lot Number: 151

Description: Exceedingly scarce 1933-34 Chicago Bears professional model home uniform attributed to Link Lyman (MEARS A5). Incredible rarity from the formative era of the NFL of an orange wool construction having stitched black "12" on front and back. Three thin black stripes are found on each sleeve and interior elbow quilted pads remain in place. Spalding manufacturer's label affixed inside the tail front along with "48" size tag. Jersey exhibits extremely heavy use including numerous tears, small to moderate holes, and fraying especially to the end of the sleeve cuffs. Uniform includes its original tan canvas pants with interior reeded padding and tie down front. "Red Grange 1925" written in vintage blue ink on the interior. While of course no way in which to clearly attribute the pants to Grange as well it is at a minimum interesting to ponder given that Grange was a teammate of Lyman's on the Bears. Stunning relic of the highest scarcity marking as the earliest NFL game jersey we have offered in our 29 year company history. Includes LOA from MEARS Authentication (A5)(jersey only): PR-GD
